Day 26

I woke up to 7 inches of snow on the ground today. Then, in true Colorado fashion, it started melting 30 seconds later.  Puddles and slush everywhere. Leather boots weren't at all logical as they are currently wet - possibly ruined.

Is replacing previously owned damaged articles of apparel acceptable on this venture? I mean if I had some raspberries that were moldy, I'd throw them away and go by some new ones. I freakin' love raspberries. Almost as much as I love these boots...

I explained my theory to Adam as I showed him my wet boots. His response was, "This is why we can't have nice things." That's what he always says.
(Stuff like this happens to me often, I can't help it.)

Maybe they will dry and be just fine. Or maybe I'm going to need a cobbler, and not the peach kind.

If I could shop, I would definitely probably order these immediately. I love them like I love raspberries.

  1. As I read your post today, all i can see out of my peripheral vision is the heart beating and basically SCREAMING "LEAVE ME A COMMENT." I decided i would leave you one....

I too am struggling with appropriate footwear for this snow that apparently will be with us for months to come. I don't' want to invest a lot of money in a pair of boots i know will get ruined by the snow but I also don't want wet feet...AHHHH!!!!!

Ps... I would say replacing worn goods does not count. I mean there are just some things you NEED... I bet Adam now wants a good pair of boots for his commute!!! use that to your advantage!

  5. As much as I vote "get new boots!" I get the budget thing. I've worn my leather boots in less than ideal (i.e. WET) situations, and they've always turned out ok. They may get a little worn looking on the bottoms, but it actually makes me love them even more. :)
