It took a lot of Rit Dye Remover to make this skirt the red that it is now. It was actually one of the first things I tried to dye (think wayyyyyyy back to the green pants, more specifically, Day 173). This skirt used to be navy, but because I also have another navy skirt (last seen: here), I thought I could undo it. It didn't work the first time, so I gave up... you know, just as most go getters and other determined people do.
When we moved into our new house, there was a pile of "clothes to be rit dyed" that I carefully folded and placed in our laundry room. This once faded blue skirt was in that pile. I've spent the last couple of weekends repeatedly washing it in rit dye remover. When I thought it was faded enough, I decided it was time. I knew I would need a darker color, and red was the color that jumped out at me as I stood in the rit dye aisle.
I bet you're really going to miss these rit dye stories...
I will miss the rit dye... I keep thinking I'll try it then I forget.
